Family

I got married in January of 2009 to my best friend Kate.  We met on a mission trip to Peru when God put our lives on the same path.  I have seen God do amazing things through our relationship and willingness to follow him that I never imagined possible.

The importance of the family has been diminished over the past several decades, in our country there is a crisis among the family unit.  This is why this is such an important subject for me.  I feel as men we have dropped the ball and we are no longer the head of the family as we need to be, and as a unit we no longer look to Christ as the head of our families. As men we need to realize the importance of our families.

Ephesians 5:25 “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her”

Over the years I have learned that my family doesn’t only include my blood relatives but extends out to my sisters and brothers in Christ.  I think as believers this is one of the most important things we miss on a daily basis.  The family of Christ is much stronger and more powerful than we realize.  I only hope in some way that I can speak well about these two very important subjects through the blog.
